A pedestrian has died from his injuries after being struck by a vehicle Friday night in Peoria.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said in a news release Gary Duncan, 58, of Peoria was struck around 9:30 p.m. Friday near Allen Road and Willow Knolls Drive. Harwood said Duncan was walking east across Allen Road when he was hit by a southbound pickup truck.

Harwood said Duncan was initially alert and response when he was taken to OSF St. Francis Medical Center, but he died early Saturday morning. The coroner said Duncan died of multiple injuries and internal bleeding. Toxicology results are pending.

Harwood said the driver of the truck immediately stopped and cooperated with police.

Peoria Police are investigating.
