Woman charged in deaths of 2 pedestrians no longer participating in Bradley's May commencement

A Bradley University student arrested for the deaths of two pedestrians in East Peoria earlier this month will no longer participate in spring commencement.

Stephanie Melgoza, 23, was quietly removed from Bradley's list of students included in the May 15 ceremony after students protested her participation this week.

Bradley University isn't commenting.

Melgoza faces DUI and aggravated reckless driving charges in Tazewell County for the April 10 deaths of Andrea Rosewicz and Paul Prowant near East Peoria's Throttle Bar and Grill. Authorities say Melgoza failed a field sobriety test.

She's currently out on bond. Her arraignment is set for May 24.
