The death of a Peoria toddler is under investigation as the city's third homicide of the year.
First responders arrived at 1033 Northeast Perry at 11:37 a.m. Tuesday on a report of a child not breathing. Two-year-old Emorri Green was pronounced dead at the residence just before 12:15 p.m.
An autopsy shows she died from multiple traumatic blunt force injuries inflicted by another person.
Shamari Williams, 25, was arrested for aggravated battery in connection with the incident. It was later upgraded to first degree murder after the death was ruled a homicide by the Peoria County Coroner.
Williams is detained at the Peoria County Jail.
