Four people were injured—three critically—after being trapped inside a burning home in Peoria early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. Sunday at 2806 N. Wisconsin Avenue, the Peoria Fire Department said. Seven people were inside, and most had been alerted by a child who woke up to find the fire, officials said.

Four people were taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with injuries, including three in critical condition. One person was later transferred to a burn unit in Springfield, officials said.

One dog was killed in the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
