Station Announcement - CPB Funding

Public media funding has overwhelmingly earned bipartisan support since 1967. That ended today when Congress voted to rescind $1.1B in advanced appropriations.

Today NPR, alongside Aspen Public Radio, Colorado Public Radio, and KSUT Public Radio, filed suit to challenge President Trump’s unlawful Executive Order targeting NPR and PBS. They do so to defend our First Amendment rights and the rights of public media stations across the country. 

On Thursday night, President Trump signed an executive order titled “Ending Taxpayer Subsidization of Biased Media.” The order instructs the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to prohibit both direct and indirect federal funding to NPR and PBS.
