Peoria County Clerk Rachael Parker

The two contenders for Peoria County Clerk in the upcoming November election each praised the office Saturday during a candidate forum and said they're the one to lead it into the future.

Since the Rental Housing Support Program Fee was first introduced in 2005, a majority of the proceeds have been directed to Chicago and Cook County. Now the Peoria and Tazewell County clerks are part of an effort to get those funds more fairly distributed.
