East Bluff Community Center

A partnership between the East Bluff Community Center and Heartland Health Services is bringing a new health clinic to the East Bluff.

The East Bluff Community Center has new leadership at the helm. The non-profit organization at 512 E. Kansas St. offers a variety of programs, activities and services to boost the sense of community in one of Peoria’s lowest income neighborhoods.

With the new program on the horizon, community leaders and organizers are sharing their hopes and concerns.

Although thought of as a primarily urban landscape, Peoria also touts an impressive amount of green spaces, and with that comes several community gardens tucked into corridors all over the city.

Beginning this weekend, the East Bluff Community Center will offer a free advanced English class for native speakers of other languages.

Two Peoria non-profit agencies will soon join forces to bring equity-based programs and services to people in the East Bluff.

East Bluff Community Center Executive Director Kari Jones sees a potential $25,000 grant as a benefit for the entire Peoria area. Jones is courting support to help the EBCC win one of this year’s 40 grant awards in the State Farm Neighborhood Assist program.
