Des Plaines Investigates Drunken Police Party

Creative Commons

DES PLAINES - Des Plaines spent nearly $60,000 to get to the bottom of what happened at a drunken golf outing and party that some members of the Chicago suburb's police department attended last year.

Des Plaines officials hired an outside firm to investigate the June 2017 golf outing after reports a female officer may have been sexually assaulted after the golf outing at a nearby residence.

A criminal investigation by police in Hoffman Estates found no evidence of such an assault. However, five Des Plaines officers and one civilian employee of the department were suspended for behavior that included excessive drinking.
