A central Illinois youth basketball coach has pleaded not guilty to charges he engaged in criminal sexual activity with two former players.
Barry S. Wolfe of Martinsville was arrested last month on 13 felony counts alleging sexual activity with girls between 15 and 16. The incidents occurred between February 2014 and September 2015. Since then 30 additional counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and 12 counts of criminal sexual assault have been filed against the 53-year-old Wolfe.
Wolfe coached the Central Illinois Storm, an American Athletic Union basketball program for girls age 17 and younger in Illinois and Indiana. He is being held in lieu of $5.5 million.
During a hearing before Coles County Circuit Judge Brien O'Brien, defense attorney Ed Piraino said it's possible he will seek a bond reduction.
