U of I Has High Hopes for Carle Illinois College of Medicine

The Chancellor for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign predicts the new Carle Illinois College of Medicine will transform the way schools train physicians.

The Carle Illinois College of Medicine is the first new college at the state’s flagship university in 60 years. The goal is to graduate physicians who are experts in high tech engineering.

Chancellor Robert Jones believes the new college will become a world leader.

“I believe that this initiative is going to define this university for this century and the next 150 years,” Jones said.

The Liaison Committee on Medical Education has given the new College of Medicine preliminary accreditation, the first of three steps to full accreditation.

The college will host an open house for prospective students on November 18th. First enrollment is planned for the Fall of 2018.
