Democratic U.S. Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois says he’s disappointed with the head of the FBI. The bureau will look at newly discovered emails involving Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. It’s trying to determine whether they have anything to do with Clinton’s use of a private server while she was Secretary of State.
Director James Comey announced the news Friday. Durbin says the timing is suspect…
He’s even looked at these records, why would he make this an issue? If there’s something there of substance, for goodness sake disclose it. Let’s move forward.
Durbin says he’s a big fan of Comey and supported him for FBI Director. But he says it’s not fair to the presidential candidates to provide no evidence while suggesting the emails might be worth investigating.
