Trustees at Chicago State University plan Friday to vote on a "separation agreement" for the school's president, who has had the position for nine months. The Chicago State's board of trustees' agenda for Friday's meeting includes the agreement vote and naming an interim president.
President Thomas Calhoun Jr. is paid $300,000 a year. He took the job in January and had a contract until January 2021. Calhoun replaced former President Wayne Watson, who retired last year.
Chicago State has had money troubles recently. In February it declared a financial emergency and about 40% of its employees have been terminated or laid off since the beginning of the year.
