Weather creates slippery conditions for 2 jets at O'Hare

Snowy conditions at O'Hare International Airport have led to a small jet sliding off a runway and a commercial jet sliding on a taxiway.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman says an EmbraerPhenomE55P flown by private operator NetJets slid off a runway around noon Tuesday.  The plane originally was headed to Executive Airport in Wheeling but landed at O'Hare.  No injuries were reported.

A short time later, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83 operating by American Airlines requested to be towed to the terminal after sliding on a taxiway.

The Chicago Aviation Department says more than 375 flights had been canceled at O'Hare because of snow and freezing rain.
