Woman gets 3 years in prison from Quincy museum break-in

A Missouri woman who pleaded guilty to breaking into a Quincy museum has been sentenced to three years in prison.

31-year-old Sommer D. Young of Warrensburg, Missouri was arrested Aug. 6 after an early morning break-in was reported at the History Museum in downtown Quincy.

Young told police she broke out a window with a rock and entered.  Police found Young in the museum's basement.

Judge William Mays opted not to give Young probation, citing the seriousness of her crime.

He ordered Young to face two years of mandatory supervision following her release from prison and to pay $85 in restitution to the museum.
