DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - Decatur officials are planning to lead a funeral procession in honor of recently deceased Mayor Mike McElroy. The 63-year-old McElroy died Friday after suffering what police have called a medical emergency while driving. The city said in a news release that a Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in downtown Decatur. The procession will follow. McElroy had been mayor since 2009 and served on the City Council since 2003. Mayor Pro Tem Julie Moore-Wolfe is serving as interim mayor until the council appoints a successor.
