Just two days after his formal announcement, Doctor Ben Carson brought his campaign for the GOP presidential nomination to the Quad Cities.
The retired neuro-surgeon told a standing room only crowd of about 300 in Davenport today how important faith was in his medical career, and how important it still is in his life.
“And they’ll say ‘Oh, how can anybody be a scientist and believe that God created the earth and all this kind of stuff?’ But you know what I say? I say how can anybody be a scientist and believe that something came from nothing.”
He believes the main threats to the country these days are the deep divisions among Americans, fiscal irresponsibility, and the spread of Islamic radical terrorism around the world.
