Illinois measles cases climb to 15

Wikipedia

Health officials say the number of Illinois measles cases has reached 15.
Cook County Public Health Department spokesman Sean McDermott said Wednesday that the latest case involves an adult from northern Cook County. He says the patient has no direct connection to the any of the previously reported cases, and the infection source is unknown. The patient's vaccination status also isn't known.
All 15 cases have been in Cook County, with three adults and 12 infants affected. Thirteen cases have been associated with a KinderCare Learning Center in Palatine.
Measles is a highly contagious viral disease that causes a rash and fever. It can be dangerous, especially to young children. Vaccination is the best way to prevent measles.

Health officials are still investigating possible causes for the cluster of cases.
