The top candidates for Illinois governor are running around the state today ahead of tomorrow’s election. Governor Pat Quinn held a rally on the South Side of Chicago.
The crowd in Bridgeport was LOUD to say the least.
"Everybody in! Nobody left out! That’s what we believe in right?"
Quinn led the cheers, turning some of his commonly used phrases into chants.
"And we believe in Jobs. The best way to fight poverty, is a J-O-B."
The crowd of mostly black supporters cheered through a LONG list of speeches from top Democrats.
" We share a common goal: to bring good paying jobs to Illinois."
That’s U-S Senator Dick Durbin.
"To make certain that the families are working, are given the respect of an increase in the minimum wage."
But possibly the loudest cheers came for Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle, who’s unopposed, but who threw out a few jabs at Quinn’s opponent’s expense.
"He should have failed kindergarten because he doesn’t know how to work with anybody."
Quinn’s scheduled to visit East St Louis and Springfield today before heading back to Chicago tonight
