Preston Jackson is known throughout Illinois as a sculptor and painter. He earned the states’ highest honor for professional achievement and public service.  Jackson grew up in Decatur, went to the University of Illinois and teaches at the Art Institute of Chicago. He also co-founded the Contemporary Arts Center of Peoria. He talked with Illinois Public Radio's David Inge about why he says his art is personal, and the message he hopes others get from his work.
