When the Illinois State Board of Education releases new student achievement results later this week, parents will find even more information online. The site illinoisreportcard.com provides data for each public school and school district, and has added several new metrics this year. Mary Fergus, spokesperson for the board, says it will give a more complete picture:
"In the past we've looked at a lot of the student test results, and we haven't had the bigger context. We haven't had information about principal turnover or teacher retention."
The report cards will also show achievement results by gender, race, ethnicity and income level, and what percentage of high school graduates finish college within four years.
