Imani's Story: Woodruff Culinary Student Continues Her Pastry Pursuits

Tory Dahlhoff / WCBU
Imani Abdul, a Woodruff culinary student who missed out on scholarship money due to the COVID-19 pandemic, recently got a job at Le Bakery in Peoria.

We recently shared the story of Peoria High School senior Imani Abdul, one of the members of the Woodruff Career and Technical Center’s culinary team that won the ProStart state competition last March, but were denied a chance to attend the national competition due to the pandemic.
To fill the gap left by missing out on that competition’s prize money, she recently applied for a scholarship at the culinary school she plans to attend next fall.  Correspondent Tory Dahlhoff followed up with Imani in hopes of a sweet update about her pastry pursuits.
