Peoria Public Schools District 150 will phase back to full remote learning after Thanksgiving.
The decision comes as COVID-19 cases surge regionally and locally-- even though the district's numbers remain relatively low.
"These are unprecedented times during a global pandemic and no decision is perfect. We must continue to preserve the health and safety of our Peoria Public Schools community and our Peoria community at large," said Superintendent Dr. Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat. "Please be safe during the upcoming months."
Students will continue in-person learning through Nov. 24. Remote learning will then pick up for all students after Thanksgiving break. Following winter break, students will remain on remote learning from Jan. 4-15.
This includes students who attend Woodruff and Valeska Hinton.
Staff also will work remotely during this time period.
