Peoria Riverfront Museum Offers Free Passes For Peoria, East Peoria Students and Families

Peoria and East Peoria students can now visit the Peoria Riverfront Museum for free.

The Every Student Initiative Fun Passes are available for Peoria District 150 and East Peoria District 86 students now through May 2021.

Peoria Riverfront Museum CEO John Morris announced the initiative on Thursday.

"We care about you. We love the students of this area. The Peoria Riverfront Museum is proud of the Every Student Initiative," Morris said.

Peoria Public School Superintendent Sharon Desmoulin-Kherat agreed it's a great educational opportunity.

"As we continue to lead during these ambiguous times, the museum is seizing the moment to think of ways to rethink ways to transition learning opportunities not only for our students, but for the entire family," she said.

Tony Ingold, District 86 superintendent, said, "We're going to encourage our students and families to take advantage of this. It is a great learning opportunity, but it's also a great family opportunity. And I think that's what's important during this time."

The pass covers an educational movie with popcorn, a planetarium visit, and free admission to all museum exhibits. It's funded by a $500,000 contribution from museum donors.
