The Tri-County area has set a new one-day mortality record for COVID-19 deaths.
Ten people are reported dead from COVID-related complications. They include a woman in her 80s living at Heritage Health in Chillicothe, and three Tazewell County men in their 50s, 80s, and 90s not associated with long-term care facilities. A Tazewell man in his 90s living at Villas of Hollybrook Pekin also passed away.
In Woodford County, four people have died at Heritage Health in El Paso. One of those deaths was reported by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) on Monday.
A woman in her 40s in long-term care at Sharon Willows in Peoria who died on Sept. 26 due to co-morbidities also was reported among those dying on Tuesday.
The Tri-County region is now reporting 125 COVID-19 related deaths since March, and 7,353 total confirmed cases.
IFPH reports all 11 regions of Gov. JB Pritzker's Restore Illinois plan are reporting increasing positivity rates. Pritzker announced Monday that southern Illinois will see new restrictions take effect this week. Will, Kankakee, DuPage, and Kane Counties also will have restrictions on indoor dining and drinking reimposed as positivity rates spike in the Chicago suburbs.
