A Peoria Police Officer says he's running to become the next city clerk.
Shawn Allen announced his bid for the nonpartisan position on Wednesday.
Allen said he wants to reform the city's Freedom of Information Act request process, host monthly community meetings, and make the city clerk's office a voter registration hub.
Beth Ball has served as city clerk since 2012. The election is next year.
