COVID-19 Outbreak Confirmed At Bradley University

WCBU

Update 3:30 p.m.| Bradley University is confirming a COVID-19 outbreak involving members of its campus orientation program.

University officials say 10 students have tested positive as of 2 p.m. Friday. Some of those students were involved in the orientation program, but the spread isn't believe to be linked to orientation.

Several cases were discovered through contact tracing after the initial case was discovered.

Officials say those immediately affected were notified and have either already been tested or are scheduled for testing. They also are quarantining for a minimum of 14 days.

People who are identified as having been within six feet of a person who tested positive for 15 minutes or more will be contacted by university Health Services for next steps. Those not considered at risk, but connected with a positive case, will receive an email.

The four campus orientation sessions set for July 27-31 are now virtual-only. On-campus admissions visits slated for next week will also be rescheduled.
