Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis Takes New Job With OSF

Tim Shelley / Peoria Public Radio

Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis is the new strategic philanthropy officer for the OSF HealthCare Foundation.

“I am honored to be part of the OSF Foundation. The work it does to improve the health and well-being of communities served by OSF throughout the state is so important. As someone who has spent more than 20 years in public service, I feel right at home in this philanthropic, Mission-driven environment,” said Ardis in a prepared statement.

Ardis will primarily work to bolster OSF's relationships and partnerships in the Peoria area.

The mayor previously held executive positions with CGN Global, Axis Global Engineering, and ELM Locating and Utility Services.

Ardis' current term as mayor expires next year. He hasn't announced re-election plans. Peoria activist Chama St. Louis declared her candidacy last month.

Ardis was elected to the Peoria City Council in 1999. He became mayor in 2005.
