All Tazewell County employees are returning to work next week.Many county employees have remained home for the past month under the governor's stay-at-home order. But Tazewell County Board chairman Dave Zimmerman said county government will begin reopening in a limited capacity next Monday. "We're going to do everything we can to protect employees and the public. We're balancing that with getting our county business done," he said. " Courts are opening back up in a limited manner May 1st. And so we're working in conjunction with them."The county's McKenzie Building will remain closed to the general public.County offices will be open on an appointment-only basis through the month of May. Employees and members of the public will undergo temperature checks. Face masks will also be offered to employees unable to socially distance. Zimmerman said some details are still in the works.
