2020 Tremont Turkey Festival Canceled

Village of Tremont
The annual Tremont Turkey Festival

The 2020 Tremont Turkey Festival is canceled due to ongoing uncertainty regarding COVID-19.

The Tremont Betterment Association made the announcement Tuesday morning. The festival was scheduled for June 12-14.

"While this is an extremely difficult decision to make, the health and well being of the thousands of festival goers, vendors and countless volunteers is our main concern," the association said in a Facebook post.

The festival raises money for Tremont community projects and organizations each year. It is one of Central Illinois' largest annual festival events.

Organizers plan to bring the Tremont Turkey Festival back in 2021.
