The local bus system isn't immune from traffic pressures that will be sparked by the Murray Baker Bridge closure next month.
CityLink marketing director Emily Watson said passengers should expect delays particularly during the morning and evening rush hours.
"We certainly want them to kind of keep them in mind, and if they need to make a little extra time in their commutes to do so," she said. "Because we certainly don't want them to be late to any of their appointments, or jobs, or anything like that."
The following departures from the downtown transit center are expected to be the most heavily delayed:
- Morning – 6:15 am; 6:45 am; 7:15 am; 7:45 am; 8:15 am; 8:45 am; and 9:15 am
- Afternoon/Evening – 2:15 pm; 2:45 pm; 3:15 pm; 3:45 pm; 4:15 pm; 4:45 pm; 5:15 pm; 5:45 pm; and 6:15 pm
In-town traffic will be detoured to the Bob Michel Bridge near the downtown transit center.
Watson said bus riders headed across the river should expect the longest travel delays. The Murray Baker will close for seven months starting March 29.
