Richwoods High School was rated in the top 10 percent of STEM schools in the country by Newsweek magazine.
Richwoods has over 50 Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, CTE and dual credit courses. Most of those programs have a heavy focus on science, technology, engineering, and math.
"It's a tremendous honor and positive attention is always great in education," said Richwoods High School principal Brett Elliott.
Elliott says Richwoods has also enrolled 516 minority students into their STEM programs in the past three years. They are historically underrepresented in those fields.
Newsweek's ranking was done in conjunction with STEM.org using data collected from 2015-2019.
