Man in Life-Threatening Condition After Central Peoria Shooting

An adult man is in life-threatening condition after he was shot Thursday morning in Central Peoria. 

Peoria police responded to the 3200 block of N. Isabell just after 7:45 a.m. Officers found a vehicle in the 31oo block with gunfire damage. A man seen near the vehicle fled after spotting police.

Witnesses said they saw a suspect vehicle fleeing the area after the shooting, according to police. 

Police spread out to look for the fleeing man. A gunshot victim was found in the backyard of a house in the 31oo block of N. Twelve Oaks. He was taken to the hospital.

St. Philomena School and Thomas Jefferson Primary School both briefly went on lockdown after the shooting. 

No suspect information is currently available.
