Every East Peoria grade school students will now get the chance to visit the Peoria Riverfront Museum this year - at no cost to them.
The privately-funded Every Student Initiative started three years ago for K-8 students enrolled in Peoria Public Schools.
Now, a donation from John Graham and Associates and Art Bridges is expanding that opportunity across the Illinois River.
“We wanna give these opportunities. We think that’s what offered here at the museum is a great opportunity for our students. It’s a great learning opportunity," said Tony Ingold, the superintendent for East Peoria School District 86.
The museum opened in downtown Peoria in 2012 on the old Sears block. Peoria County owns the museum.
