The Peoria Fire Department is investigating a blaze that heavily damaged multiple businesses Wednesday morning.
Crews were called to 435 S. Western just after 4:00 a.m. First responders observed thick, black smoke coming from the roof. Firefighters then broke a glass front door to gain entry to fight the blaze, according to a release. The fire was under control within 11 minutes of first arrival.
The Peoria Fire Department estimates damage to the building’s four business occupants at $100,000. No injuries were reported.
