Memorial Funds Established for Family of Slain Deputy

Illinois State Police

Memorial funds have been established to aid the family of a slain Fulton County Sheriff’s deputy.

39-year-old Troy Chisum died in gunfire as he answered a domestic disturbance call in rural Avon Tuesday. 42-year old suspect Nathan Woodring was taken into custody yesterday after an 18-hour standoff.

The procession of vehicles Wednesday behind the hearse carrying Chisum’s body from Peoria to Lewistown was two miles long.

Chisum was a four-and-a-half year veteran of the Fulton County Sheriff’s office. Donations to the family can be sent to the Mid-America National Bank in Canton. There’s also a Go-Fund-Me account online.
