A walk Friday evening will remember Peorians who have died from gun violence.
The 5:30 p.m. event comes days after 4-year-old Jeremiah Ward was killed by gunfire on West Ann Street. Organizers say the Memory Walk will allow peaceful remembrance, while helping the community come together against neighborhood violence as summer begins.
The event starts at the East Bluff Community Center parking lot. It will then proceed to Kansas, Maryland, and Frye before returning to the community center.
The memory walk is being organized by Peoria Community Against Violence.
