Peoria police are investigating the city's 9th homicide of the year. The young man was shot and killed in the Taft Homes.
Police were called to the 300 block of Hancock just after 3 a.m. where they found the victim on the sidewalk. He is not yet being identified, pending family notification.
Police located another victim they believe who was involved in the incident. He was located at a home in the 700 block of Armstrong and had also been shot. The unidentified 23-year-old was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say they will offer an update when they have more information regarding any potential suspects.
