llinois State and Bradley universities have announced a partnership in which WGLT will assume broadcast operations of WCBU, which has been broadcasting from the Bradley campus since 1970.
WGLT general manager R.C. McBride tells GLT's Eric Stock the intent of the agreement is to help avoid the loss of local programming for Peoria's NPR station at a time when mergers and similar collaborations are becoming more common in a ever-changing media landscape.
