In a sure sign of spring, the Illinois Department of Transportation is planning multiple road construction projects in greater Peoria beginning Monday, March 18.
The projects involve expanding the I-474 work zone at Bartonville, a Farmington Road bridge replacement over Kickapoo Creek and new signals along U.S. 24 near Mapleton. Crews will also start construction where U.S. 24 intersects with U.S. 150 and Illinois 116 near East Peoria.
IDOT officials say motorists can expect delays, and encourage the use of alternative routes until the work is completed.
