Derailment Closes Route 136 near Table Grove

A Sunday night train derailment near Table Grove has closed a portion of U.S. Route 136.

Illinois State Police report a BNSF train pulling tankers filled with isopropyl alcohol derailed.

Fulton County emergency officials say the accident happened at the McDonough County line between Adair and Table Grove. A detour is in place for Route 136.

The road is expected to remain closed as officials clear at least two cars that jumped the tracks. There’s no word on the cause of the derailment.
