CityLink is preparing a vintage bus for its Stuff-a-Bus food drive. The annual campaign to end hunger in Peoria begins today.
It aims to collect eleven tons of food to benefit the Peoria Friendship House. Canned and boxed staples can be purchased or dropped off at all Peoria and East Peoria Kroger locations through December 3.
A 1975 orange painted CityLink bus will drive throughout Peoria to promote the food drive. All donations will help Friendship House provide meals for the nearly 50 families it serves weekly.
CityLink employees and local transit union members started the event in 1987 with a small door-to-door food drive.
