Grant Awarded to Peoria's Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center
The Peoria office of the Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center’s work to assist small business growth is being rewarded with a grant.
The $445 thousand federal award was announced Monday by U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin.
The Illinois Manufacturing Excellence Center or IMEC provides project development to more than 500 businesses statewide in a variety of areas including customer engagement and workforce development.
Senator Duckworth says the grant will allow IMEC to help small businesses innovate to stay competitive in the global economy. Senator Durbin says the grant will assist small, emerging and rural business growth across Illinois.
IMEC’s Peoria office is located on the Bradley University campus. The organization also has offices in Carbondale, Chicago, DeKalb, Rockford and Schaumburg.
The grant is funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology.
