A Peoria man is in custody in connection with the weekend death of Thomas Whitby. 39-year-old Daniel Jablonski was arrested for First Degree Murder Saturday.
Peoria Police say the 67-year-old Whitby was found unresponsive about 10:00 a.m. Saturday inside a residence in the 200 block of Northeast Rock Island Avenue. His autopsy confirmed he suffered multiple blunt force head injuries.
Jablonski was taken transported to the Peoria County Jail.
This is the second murder of a person in their 60’s this month in Peoria. 62-year-old William Edwards was stabbed to death earlier in September. He was also killed in a place that served as his secondary home. Police have made an arrest in that case.
