OSF Healthcare St. Francis Medical Center is earning accolades for its heart attack patient treatment program. The American College of Cardiology has given the medical center its ACTION Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award.

OSF St. Francis is one of 203 hospitals nationwide to receive the 2018 designation. The ACTION Registry award is given to high-performing facilities that implement the most current standards for treating high-risk heart attack patients.

UnityPoint Health’s two Peoria hospitals have earned awards for its plan to treat patients with irregular heartbeats. UnityPoint-Methodist has received the American Heart Association’s Get With The Guidelines-AFIB gold-level quality achievement award. UnityPoint-Proctor earned the silver designation.

The honor recognizes hospitals that set and achieve specific measures to assist patients with atrial fibrillation, an irregular heartbeat that can lead to stroke and other serious medical conditions.
