Changes are continuing to take place at the UnityPoint Health Methodist campus in downtown Peoria.
Construction is underway on a 200-space surface parking lot on the site of the former parking deck that was located between Hamilton and Fayette Streets. Work is to be completed in the coming weeks.
Hospital officials say construction will also soon begin on two other projects. A new outpatient surgery entrance will be built on the east side of Glen Oak Avenue, making access to surgery check-in easier for patients.
Methodist is also updating its exterior to the side of the building facing Interstate 74.
Both projects will be completed next July and are part of the hospital’s overall Campus Enhancement plans.
