Pekin K9 Officer to Compete for Grant Money

The Pekin Police Department and its K9 Officer are participating in the Aftermath contest again this year. Last year Ahen and the Pekin Police Department lost the grant competition by only few votes. This year Pekin Police Chief John Dossey says he’s hopeful people will log-on and vote every day to ensure Officer Ahen is recognized as much as he is loved by the community.

Dossey says it’s a great opportunity to bring recognition to Pekin’s K9 program and win one of the monetary prizes.

The Aftermath K9 grant is won by the dog and department that receives the most votes. First prize is $5000. Voting started Wednesday.
