Several schools in the Metamora area have canceled classes Tues., due to what police are calling a “credible threat.” The following schools are closed:
Metamora Township High School
Metamora Grade School
Riverview Grade School
Germantown Hills Grade School
St. Mary's School Metamora
The closures come two days after a racist video was posted by a Metamora Township High School Student directed at a black classmate. School officials are expected to make a public statement today.
The school district says in a statement posted early Tues. that it’s working with multiple law enforcement agencies to address the matter.
As a result, classes and extracurricular activities are canceled.
