Metamora man sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted sex trafficking of a minor

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

A Metamora man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for one count of attempted sex trafficking of a minor.

Dana Anthony Curtin, 50, was arrested in May 20, 2022 by federal law enforcement agents after he communicated online with what he believed was an adult offering sex with a minor. He was arrested when he traveled to meet the adult and child.

Curtin was convicted June 15, 2023 by a federal jury.

U.S. District Judge James E. Shadid sentenced him to 15 years in prison, followed by a lifetime of supervised release. He also will be required to register as a sex offender.
