US News Releases 2018 Rankings, Bradley U Hangs Onto Top 10 in Region

Bradley University slid down a spot in the US News & World Reports' ranking of best regional colleges, but it still landed in the top ten.

Bradley is listed 7th in the Midwest in the 2018 edition. It ranked 6th in the region last year. US News & World Report ranked a total of 173 universities in the 12-state region. US News’ calculates rankings by gathering data on 15 variables, like student retention and selectivity.

BU remains one of the country’s top schools for undergraduate engineering in this year's ranking. Bradley tied for 26th place, out of 200 colleges and universities across the country. BU tied with Purdue University-Northwest in Hammond, Ind.

Other area colleges landed on the annual ranking Eureka College, ranked 26th for best regional colleges, Illinois State University placed 83rd for best public university, and Illinois Wesleyan University and Knox College tied for 71st in best national liberal arts college. 

The most drastic change year-over-year comes from Monmouth College, which jumped 12 spots in the national liberal arts category. The publication listed Monmouth 144th nationally.
