The City of Washington has a precautionary boil order in place beginning August 1st. Washington City water users will be under a three-day boil order. A planned maintenance project at the city’s water treatment plant #2 is scheduled begin late in the evening on July 31st.
Illinois Environmental Protection Agency protocol requires a boil order to be issued as a precaution.
This boil order does not apply to city residents or businesses that obtain their water from the Northern Tazewell Public Water District or Sundale Utilities (Washington Estates).
